Let me be you and hold your hand,
Like you used to hold mine,
And help you to cross the street of time.
Then I will erase the cracks of life
On your face with fingers
Where your hold still lingers,
And reminds me from time to time
Of a life that killed itself for mine.
A simple touch, an ordinary smile,
Will awaken in you, a light
That will transform the future,
To a comforting, steady sight.
When you look for colour and space,
I will fill your life with margins wide.
And the vastness of the skies
Will penetrate our lives to show
That forgiveness can lead to an understanding,
Previously blinded by a lack of foresight.
