So often you have thought of me,
And the kindness, I took for cruelty.
I wield the pen, it’s what you ingrained,
I saw the sparkle when it rained.
From hundreds of miles away, you ask,
If all is well and I should carry on the task.
Leaving myself behind in my new found identity,
I now realize, what you sacrificed, for your family.
I know hundreds of miles away, your hazy eyes,
See my stark naked dreams in a strange guise.
I know hundreds of miles away, you wipe a tear,
Our dreams are buried, we have nothing to fear.
